I started this blog before we had Peach. I decided to start fresh so i erased all 3 posts :)

So lets review.Ffor those of you who don't know, Peach is almost 2 and we have another sweet blessing due at the end of December. 

The goal of this blog is for the edification of believers in Christ Jesus, the gospel to be proclaimed to those who arent, and for our friends and families to be able to keep up with our crazy lives!

So, I will begin with December :)

Hello, December. I'm not sure about you yet. 

For those of you who know me, there was a time when Holloween was my favorite holiday. Not that I enjoy candy that much or playing dress up, but i really liked black.. However, in recent years the Lord has lightened my life with His grace, mercy, Love and Word! 

Praise the Lord that "if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new." (2 cor 5:17)

While holloween is not even on my radar anymore, I am still the "scrooge" of the family when it comes to Christmas time. The carols, the lights, the big red bows...just doesn't do much for me.Which was fine before the toddler. Now that Peach is able to take notice of these things and realize that there is something different going this time of year I thought I needed to be EVEN MORE intentional about talking to her about Christ, His birth, His death and His ressurection. So every day this December we are trying to read a prophecy/picture of Christ in the old testament. 

Here is a quick run- down of what we have looked at so far.

1- Leviticus 14:1-7 (cleansing of the leper according to the law), Jesus refers to this in mark 1:40-44 

     awesome picture of how we are dipped in the blood of the one who offered himself as a sacrifice and then    we are set free!

2- Psalm 22, This psalm starts out with the words that Jesus cried out on the cross- My God, My God! Why have you forsaken me."(mark 15:34) He really was declaring who He was to those who knew the scriptures!

3- Genesis 3:31 God made tunics of skin for adam and eve when they realized they were naked. So blood had to be shed in order for their shame to be covered!

4- Genesis 22:1-14 Christ took our place

5- Exodus 28:15-30 The Breastplate that the priest was to wear over his heart bearing the names of the tribes of Israel. Vs 30 says "so Arron shall bear the judgement of the children of Israel over his heart before the Lord continually." We see the fulfillment of this picture described in Hebrews 7:23- 25

6- Numbers 21:4-9 God sent snakes because the people were unthankfull and complained. Moses cried out to God on their behalf and God told him to set up a bronze snake and when the people who got bit by the snakes looked at the bronze snake on the pole then they would be healed! Our "snake" is Christ...when we realize our condition, we look to Him and we are healed! Christ referred to Himself in this way in John 3:14-21.

As you can see we have skipped a few days but check back later for more prophecies/pictures!

All in all, Christmas is looking better to me every day...as long as mom keeps Kenny G Christmas playing REALLY low when we come to visit :)
